FLYSURFER'S Top Rider comes to Canada!
We are really excited to have Sebastian Bubmann, one of the worlds top kiteboarders, come all the way from Germany to represent Flysurfer kites and flyboards at this event in the heart of the Canadian prairies! He will put on a kiteboarding show, I am sure, most have not had the pleasure to see before. Big air, handle pass kite loops & more. Click here to find out more about Sebastian. The Event: 22nd Annual Wind & Water Weekend June 13-15 2008 Organized by the Saskatchewan Windsurf club as a weekend of sportsmanship and family fun for all ages. Activities include an adventure race (swim, bike, run), windsurfing, kiteboarding, and the famous sacrifice to the wind god’s ceremony held at the beach party Saturday night. A beachside hot tub and big top tent will figure into the festivities as well.
Flysurfer dealers, representatives, and instructors from across the prairies will be available with demo gear and introductory kiteboarding clinics for anybody interested in the sport. Boat support will be available. If conditions are favorable we will set up a course race. Down-winders with instruction and boat support are also possible.
The Location: Wind & Water will be held at Lake Diefenbaker about 125 km south of Saskatoon. Activities will be at Tufts Bay campground by the town of Elbow, Sask. Click here for road map.
Lake Diefenbaker is a reservoir shaped like a T with a dam at each end. Water levels change depending on the season and beaches can be big at times making it the perfect place to learn and upgrade your kiteboarding skills. You can come in and land almost anywhere along the 300km of shoreline. Diefenbaker is a premiere kiteboarding destination for all levels of kiters and well worth the trip! Alberta kiters have been coming to Diefenbaker for 7 years now. Click here for Lake Diefenbaker info.
Meals & Accommodation: Most will be camping at Tufts bay campground, two provincial parks are also within a short drive and hotel/motel s are available in Elbow 2km away. Restaurants and groceries are available in Elbow. For more info check out the Elbow web site. www.elbowsask.com
